Configuring Windows XP Dialup Networking for Cheetah

1. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel.  If you get something 
that looks like the picture below, called the "Category View", 
I recommend that you click on "Switch to Classic View".

2.  You should then see the control panel below.
Double-click on Network Connections...

3. Click on "Create a New Connection" in the Network Tasks pane,
then click Next to skip past the Welcome screen in the New Connection
Wizard...

4. From the Network Connection Type page, select Connect to the 
Internet, then click Next...

5. Choose Set Up My Connection Manually, click Next...

6. Select Connect Using a Dial-Up Modem, click Next...

7. Type "Cheetah" in the "ISP Name" box, click Next...

8. Enter the local Cheetah dialup number that you were given, click Next...

9. Fill in the User Name and Password fields, and retype your password 
in the Confirm Password field.  In addition choose from the following 
three options:

• Use This Account Name and Password When Anyone Connects 
  to the Internet From This Computer.  Select this option if you 
  want to enable automatic dialing from all user accounts.  Clear 
  this option if you want to allow this connection to be used only 
  when you've logged onto your account.
• Make This The Default Internet Connection.  Leave this option 
  selected if this is your primary means of access to the Internet.  
  Clear this check box if this is a backup connection.
• Turn On Internet Connection Firewall For This Connection.  
  We strongly suggest that you leave this option selected unless 
  you have an alternative firewall program that you prefer to use.

Click Next...

10. In the final page of the wizard, review your settings and click 
Finish to create the connection.
